EV 10.625 – Ethnography Lab
An evening workshop on writing impactful research for a popular audience. Participants will discuss sharing their research outside of academia, covering strategy, style, publishing venues, and working with the press. Through exercises, participants will think through sharing their own research, and come away with practical steps toward publishing for a popular audience, as well as an understanding of its specific risks and rewards. The workshop will include of a short presentation, followed by a Q&A, and a reading and writing exercise.
Participants should bring a notebook or laptop, and one piece of popular-academic writing to discuss. Participants should also come prepared with an idea of what kind of writing (length and audience) they might like to do. Short reading provided upon registration.
